Happy Tip – Snacks to Pack

Maybe to some of you this is a no-brainer, but one thing I always throw in my purse (not suitcase) when traveling is a couple of granola bars. You never know when you’ll be stuck with a longer-than-expected delay, or find yourself starving and in a part of town where there’s nothing you want to eat.

Granola bars are perfect because they’re not perishable, and even if the packages get punctured inside the purse or bag, they don’t make too much of a mess. I always go for the nutritionally-fortified ones, just in case my travel diet is lacking in something I’m used to getting at home. Does this keep me from getting sick? I don’t know, but I pretty much never get sick (knock on wood).

Other good snacks include dark chocolate (good dark chocolate is very filling and won’t make you crash), jerky and animal crackers. Anything that would require the use of a napkin is totally missing the point.
